Service Description
Understanding nutrigenetics and nutrigenomics ~ how the interaction between your genes and the environment (diet, exercise, etc) has the strongest effect on your health via epigenetic changes. A Fitgenes-accredited practitioner helps interpret the results of your profile report, designing personalised and targeted nutrition, exercise and lifestyle interventions. FoodChoice (Fitgenes) aims to identity genetic variants influencing your bodies response to Intolerances and Sensitivities - your coeliac disease/ mould risk, lactose & alcohol intolerance, & caffeine & salt sensitivity. CarbChoice (Fitgenes) looks at your personal response to starchy carbohydrates, and the Copy Number Variation of the AMY 1 gene that produces the enzyme 'amylase'. Test cost ($149 each); initial time to collect and process salivary buccal sample (in person); consultation to explain the results of the report (in person or Zoom) - collectively approximately 60 - 90 minutes across 2 sessions.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation or reschedule within 48 hours of appointment incurs a 50% fee. Cancellation or reschedule within 24 hours of appointment incurs a 100% fee. If the practitioner cannot make the appointment, she will reschedule at no cost incurred to the client for a suitable future date. If a date cannot be agreed, refund of any payment made can be issued. I am able to waive fees on a case-by-case basis.
